Dr. Li is an ophthalmologist in Mackay, Queensland, who offers a friendly and high-quality eye service to the community of Mackay and the Whitsundays region.

Dr. Li completed his core ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital followed by advanced training in general ophthalmology in Geelong, Victoria.  In 2017 he completed the world-renowned oculoplastic and orbital fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom where he subspecialised in surgery of the eyelid, tear duct and eye socket.

Dr. Li offers a comprehensive eye service, including:

• Cataract surgery - meticulous surgical planning with the Zeiss IOLMaster 700 with total keratometry and wavefront aberrometry, extensive experience with the latest advanced intraocular lenses (multifocal and extended depth-of-focus lenses) which maximise freedom from spectacles, and a personalised approach to achieving the visual outcome suitable to the patient's individual needs.

• Retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetes and vein occlusions

• Glaucoma care, laser and surgery including minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery with the the Hydrus® stent and iStent®

• Oculoplastic surgery - Dr. Li subspecialises in eyelid, tear duct and orbital surgery

Dr. Li has an interest in eye surgery in the developing world and is trained to operate on advanced cataracts via the SICS method.  In addition, he is involved in research and teaching through University of Sydney, where he supervises post-graduate research students.

Dr. Li has a friendly, personal approach to patients and colleagues.  The philosophy of his practice is to treat his patients with respect and take the time to explain to ensure patient understanding.  Patient satisfaction is of paramount importance to him and drives continuous quality improvement in his practice.
